ZANS SASSY DEAL
We bought Sassy when she was 8 months old. She was so easy to be around and so willing to try to please, we thought we might have something special. She was broke as a two year old and brought home for a while. We then decided to take her to Jes Elrod, where she was trained in Heading and Heeling. After four months of training, Jes called and said he was ready to show her. Then, after four months of showing on a limited basis, she qualified for the AQHA World Show in both Heading and Heeling. We decided, along with Jes, to take her to the PHBA World Show in July 2004 at Tulsa, Ok. She won two Jr. Championships, one in Heeling and the other in Steer Stopping. She won a Reserve in Jr Breakaway calf roping. After a 4 month lay off, Jes resumed showing her and finished her Superiors off in Heading and Heeling that year.
In 2005 Sassy won the Ft.Worth Stock Show in Sr.Heading.
She was the Circuit Champion at the Texas Classic in Heading.
We were getting really excited by now.
Jes showed Sassy again in the 2005 PHBA World Show. She won three World Championships, in Heading, Heeling, and Steer Stopping and one Reserve in Breakaway Calf Roping. She was given the coveted award of "High Point Roping Horse" of the PHBA.
We decided to retire Sassy and just enjoy having her here at the farm and riding her for pleasure until time to breed her. We raised one 2007 baby out of her and decided to leave her open so we could show her in the 2008 AQHA Performance Halter.
It's hard to comprehend sometimes that we own a "mare" like Sassy. She is a joy to be around and have as a part of our family. Not only has she been an easy horse to own, she is an easy horse to ride and love. But most important, she is great with our grandkids..... They call her......."Sassy Hobbs"
